Ray Wind Funds actively engages with the communities it serves

The Ray Wind Funds began to award grants through the Community Foundation in 2018 and through the Local Initiatives Fund in January 2019.

The priorities for the grants were set in response to an initial public consultation carried out for us by CAN.

In June 2019 we held our first open public meeting to mark the first full grant year of the Funds. This was primarily to report to the communities our achievements during the year and to discuss our ambitions for the coming year.

Community Engagement Events have been held every year post Covid to connect with our community, share information about projects that have been supported and discuss ideas with applicants for future projects.

We have a Ray Wind Funds Facebook page which you can view here. If you have an enquiry about the Funds/ questions about how to apply or require guidance at the start of a project please contact Jo Willis on 07762 179579 or email admin@raywindfunds.co.uk. Additionally the six main parishes with Parish Council representatives on the Board of Directors are kept informed of relevant information regarding the Ray Wind Funds.

“Due to the generosity of Ray Wind Funds, the children at Chollerton First School have been able to go on visits which have enhanced their learning in school and provided wonderful memories for them.”

The Community Benefit Fund (CBF), Small Donations Fund (SDF), Education Apprenticeship and Training Bursary (EAT) and Legacy Fund are administered by the Ray Windfarm Fund Community Interest Company (CIC) by agreement with Vattenfall.

Grants are awarded to local people and organisations who want to make a difference for their own community.
